MSP Second Opinion

Your MSP says security is handled. An independent check tells you whether that's true.

This isn't about replacing your IT provider. It's the same reason you'd get a second opinion on anything important: either the work checks out — and now you can prove it — or you get a specific punch list to hand them.

What we hear from buyers like you

Our MSP says we're covered, but every question I ask comes back 'don't worry, we handle that.'

The board asked me to demonstrate our security posture. 'Our IT provider takes care of it' isn't landing anymore.

We like our MSP. We just want someone independent to check the work before our contract renews.

What an independent check covers

Contracted versus configured

The services listed in your MSP agreement, compared line by line against what is actually enabled in your tenant. The gap between the two is where most surprises live.

Identity attack surface

MFA coverage, admin role assignments, legacy sign-in protocols, and third-party OAuth grants — the settings attackers check first, verified directly rather than taken on faith.

Monitoring that would actually catch something

Are alerts configured for the events that matter? Where do they go? Who responds, and how fast? 'We have monitoring' means little until those questions have specific answers.

Advice with no side to take

We don't sell licenses, resell managed services, or take referral fees. If your MSP is doing good work, we say so in writing. If not, the punch list is specific enough for them to execute.

How we help

The Posture Check is the vehicle: the same twelve-point inspection, delivered as an independent scorecard plus an MSP-ready punch list. Your provider doesn't need to be involved until you decide to share the results. Where things are solid, you get written confirmation you can take to your board or your insurers. Where they aren't, you get prioritized, specific fixes to hand your MSP — trust, but verify.

What you can expect

Typical engagement: two weeks. Read-only review — nothing in your environment changes, and your MSP is involved only when you choose.

  • Independent posture scorecard across identity, email, endpoint, and file-sharing
  • Line-by-line comparison of contracted MSP services versus what is actually configured
  • Prioritized punch list written for your MSP to execute — specific settings, not generalities
  • Written confirmation of the areas where your MSP's work checks out
  • Talking points for your next MSP renewal or board conversation

What our clients say

We'd been answering vendor questionnaires by guessing for two years. The Posture Check showed us we were actually in better shape than we thought — and exposed three real gaps we'd been blind to. Fixed them in ten days.
